Winter tyres
Participation
Rain, hailstorms, sleet and snow are typical of the weather forecasts of the coming cold months. Drivers in particular suffer from extreme weather, so it is important to make sure that the car is safe before starting out on the road. That is why, for an attractive price, LeasePlan can offer the opportunity to drivers to participate in the LeasePlan Winter Tyres Program.
LeasePlan determines, in consultation with the tyre specialists, the type and brand of the tyres, but will always select an A-brand.
- The winter tyres remain the property of LeasePlan.
- All tyre changes will take place at the same tyre specialist: Profile Tyrecenter, Kwik-Fit and Euromaster. The driver may select the branch.
- Storage of summer and winter tyres at the tyre specialist. This guarantees the quality of the tyres.
- Change of tyres takes place in November/December and March/April.
- The car has to be turned in with summer tyres at the end of the term.
- Because the winter tyres are fitted on the actual rims, the car will still look the same.
- The summer tyres must be turn in with the car at the end of the contract.
Why winter tyres?
- Winter tyres will ensure greater road safety for your drivers.
- They ensure a higher performance compared to summer tyres as soon as the temperature drops to 7°C or lower.
- The car has an improved grip and road holding, due to the rubber composition and improved drainage of the winter tyres.
- The braking distance reduces with 6 to 10% on slippery or wet roads and 15 to 20% on snow-covered roads.
- Winter tyres are by no means a fully fledged alternative for tyre chains. Depending on the local circumstances, namely in the mountain regions, they may be mandatory for everyone.
In general, winter tyres are more expensive than summer tyres. But besides that, the latest generation of winter tyre has no disadvantages. The noise is minimal (of course depending on the size and width of the tyres).
