As the driver you are responsible for execution of the MOT-Test on time.
Vehicles up to 3500 kg
- The first time for petrol vehicles put into use on or after 1-1-2005 is after 4 years, twice over the following 4 years and after that on an annual basis. This is a change for these vehicles compared to the legislation before 1-1-2008
- The first time for diesel and LPG vehicles put into use on or after 1-1-2005 is after 3 years and after that on an annual basis
- The first time for vehicles from before 1-1-2005 is after 3 years and after that on an annual basis.
Vehicles above 3500 kg
- Vehicles above 3500 kg must undergo a periodic motor vehicle test (abbreviated APK in Dutch) annually.
As the driver, you are responsible yourself for having the periodic motor vehicle test carried out in time.
